Stephen Taylor Speaks at Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Meeting

Winterwood’s Managing Director, Stephen Taylor, was recently honoured to attend and speak at a professional gathering of blueberry growers in Zakarpattia, Ukraine, organised by the Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association.

The event brought together growers, industry experts and business leaders to discuss some of the key opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the global blueberry sector. Topics included automation, varietal development, post-harvest handling, labour availability, logistics and the increasingly competitive international marketplace.

Drawing on both his role within Winterwood and his involvement with the International Blueberry Organization (IBO), Stephen shared insights into the importance of quality consistency, operational efficiency, innovation and strong supply chain partnerships in meeting the demands of modern berry production.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to recognise the resilience, professionalism and ongoing investment being demonstrated by Ukraine’s blueberry industry during an exceptionally challenging period. Despite the difficulties faced by the country, growers continue to focus on developing their businesses and strengthening their position within the global berry market.

Reflecting on the visit, Stephen highlighted the passion and determination of the Ukrainian growers and the value of international collaboration in helping the industry continue to evolve.

Winterwood would like to thank the Ukrainian Blueberry Growers Association for their kind invitation and hospitality, and for hosting such an informative and valuable event.
