Growing excellence in the South Africa

Premium fruit grown in South Africa

South Africa has long been a cornerstone of Winterwood’s year-round berry programme, providing premium fruit during the Northern Hemisphere winter months. Today, we work with some of the country’s leading fruit growers, combining world-class farming expertise with a shared commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability. Through strong, long-term partnerships, our South African operations benefit from extensive technical support, coordinated harvesting, modern packing facilities and efficient logistics, ensuring a reliable supply of exceptional fruit to customers.

Blueberries to table grapes

Our South African farms grow a diverse range of blueberry varieties, carefully selected to provide an extended harvest season, outstanding flavour, excellent shelf life and consistent fruit quality. Alongside conventional production, we also cultivate organic blueberries, meeting the growing demand for sustainably produced fruit. In addition to blueberries, several of our farming partners produce premium table grapes, further strengthening our year-round fruit offering. By growing a broad portfolio of varieties and crops, we are able to deliver flexibility, continuity of supply and the high standards our customers expect.

Big South African Packers

Our South African operations are supported by a dedicated packhouse facility, Big Blue Packers. Providing complete control from field to customer. Located close to our farms, the packhouse enables fruit to be cooled, graded, packed and prepared for export quickly and efficiently, helping to preserve freshness and quality. By combining modern packing technology with experienced teams and rigorous quality standards, we ensure every shipment meets the high expectations of our customers around the world.
